Swiss artist Thomas Barbey is a photographer that works exclusively in black and white. He combines his images to create surreal scenes. His process is constantly changing. Sometimes he sets out to create a specific image; sometimes he mixes two images together but isn’t moved by the result and tosses it. Other times, he hangs onto an image for years before using it. He waits until the combination is just right and fits perfectly like a puzzle piece.
