I love art! I especially love seeing art in person. There is something truly amazing about standing in front of a masterpiece that has been admired for centuries and still holds people’s hearts and minds.

So, now take that treasure and put it on a board and cut it into 1000 or more pieces. Is it the same? It definitely doesn’t have the same ‘awe’ effect as the original, but it does offer something else. CONTINUE READING

Welcome back to year 2 of July Mermaid blogs by your mermaid loving puzzle friend! Last year I waxed (semi) eloquently about my life goals matching very closely with some amazing mermaid puzzles- tiaras and pearl dripped bikini tops, crabby friends, and abalone-esque shell beds! CONTINUE READING

June gloom is upon us and I must admit… I absolutely LOVE chilly, gloomy, and gray days. It's widely been known that Los Angeles, the place I call home, is all sunshine all the time. This has been true since the dawn of L.A.s inception. What people don’t know is that the last 3-4 years, Los Angeles has had a very gloomy and chilly June. As we speak, the weather has been hovering at 68 degrees. Wanna know a secret? CONTINUE READING

If I mapped my jigsaw journey, it would take a lot of twists and turns. Starting with the simplest tray puzzles I put together as a little kid, I’ve always loved assembling puzzles. I may have stepped away from them for long periods of time, but I’ve always circled back when I’ve spotted a puzzle I just had to have. The past couple of years, I’ve become a full-fledged (some might call it “obsessed”) dissectologist with a collection that has grown exponentially.  CONTINUE READING

Hello there! It’s been another month of especially vigorous puzzling at the Puzzle Ambassador’s Residence, and right after pausing my stopwatch to chase the cat up the stairs and grab a slobber-soaked puzzle piece out of his jaw, I had to wonder whether his contributions were actually helping or hindering my puzzling on the whole. CONTINUE READING

I’ve always been an outdoorsy, nature-loving gal who tries to do what I can to protect the environment. I’m an obsessive recycler, toss everything I can into the compost bin and never use chemicals on my lawn. I try to live by the phrase “every day is Earth Day!” The actual Earth Day is celebrated every April 22nd on the anniversary of the first one held back in 1970 as a grassroots initiative to increase environmental awareness. CONTINUE READING

I am an only child. That one statement likely tells you quite a bit about me! Growing up, I lived in a teeny tiny rural town in Minnesota, so I had oodles and oodles of time where I had to entertain myself as a kid. Thank goodness I had a very active imagination! I lost hours running around our backyard pretending to be April O’Neil alongside my imaginary TMNT team, playing lion tamer to the feral kittens in my neighbors backyard, or jumping off of my swing set into imaginary long forgotten eras. CONTINUE READING

Air and water ships, old castles and ruins, steampunk machinery, and plenty of animals for good measure. What’s not to love? These common elements are just some of the reasons why I find myself frequently coming back to puzzles with artwork by Ciro Marchetti. According to my puzzle tracking spreadsheet (yes, I have one of those!), I have put together more than fifteen different puzzles featuring his artwork and have quite a few more in the to-do pile! CONTINUE READING

We all love puzzling, that’s a given, that’s why we’re here. However, us “common folk” aren’t the only ones who enjoy kicking back with a few hundred pieces of our finest artworks and finding peace in the pieces. Celebrities and notable figures around the world have often shared with us a sneak peek into their puzzling set up, or favorite images to tackle. CONTINUE READING
