I’ve always enjoyed receiving cards around the holidays and reading up on the activities of my friends and family. Although the practice seems to be getting less common as the years go by, I still have a fondness for the imagery of Christmas cards and of course the seasonal stamps that go with them. Perhaps I’m not alone in this, as holiday stamps are a regular theme in puzzles...CONTINUE READING

As leaves change colors and the temperatures get a little more manageable in the eastern United States, I always find myself wanting to spend more time outside. There’s something about the crisp fall breezes that draw me outdoors! I must not be the only one, because November 17 is National Take a Hike Day, otherwise known as National Hiking Day. Of course on the days when the weather isn’t cooperating or we can’t escape from the daily grind, we can instead celebrate nature through puzzles...CONTINUE READING

The older I get, the more I come to embrace cozy vibes, no matter the season. One puzzle artist that really captures that warm, inviting, and usually cozy atmosphere is Olivia Gibbs. I realized one day that I have quite a few puzzles with her artwork from several different brands, and, let’s be honest, I will absolutely be getting more!...CONTINUE READING

I really enjoy playing video games, but as someone who generally likes to multitask, gaming isn’t usually my go-to hobby these days. So in preparation for National Video Game Day (September 12), I did what any good puzzler would do: I put together video game–themed puzzles! ...CONTINUE READING

The second Tuesday of July is Cow Appreciation Day, and the best way I know to appreciate these animals, other than eating ice cream, is by doing some puzzles! There’s actually a surprising amount of cow and farm animal puzzles out there, but I knew just where to start. I’ve been eyeing up Cosmoo in 500 pieces from Eurographics for quite a while because it always makes me laugh...CONTINUE READING

Do you have collections—other than puzzles, that is? I admit I collect a few too many things, and so it’s no surprise that I also enjoy perusing antique stores. Even if I don’t buy anything, I enjoy looking at and appreciating people’s diverse collections. April 9th is National Cherish an Antique Day, so it only seemed appropriate to explore some antiques in puzzle form! ...CONTINUE READING

It’s March, which means the wood frogs have been coming out to breed in the US! There’s nothing quite like strolling by a pond and hearing a chorus of calling frogs. March 20th is also World Frog Day, which makes it the perfect time to celebrate these amphibians in puzzle form!
I started my froggy celebration with this amazing puzzle titled Love Me! with art by Andrea Marquis in 1000 pieces from JaCaRou Puzzles. Just look at those colors!...CONTINUE READING

Happy Lunar New Year! The Lunar New Year celebrates the first new moon in the lunisolar calendar, which is based on the phases of the moon and the position of the Sun. We have explored the Lunar New Year on the blog before, so I wanted to take a slightly different approach and focus on, well, the moon!...CONTINUE READING

I often think about traveling during the winter months, perhaps because I end up wrapped up in a blanket on my couch for most of the season. One of the places I’ve always wanted to visit is Japan. I had actually started to plan a trip for 2020 when current events made us pause our plans, and we haven’t quite been able to pick up where we left off. In the meantime, I know that puzzles have my back!...CONTINUE READING
